If you find yourself with little time to create, but you have a strong desire to make something, give this project a try. You’ll need about 30 minutes, so turn off your notifications so you’re not distracted by social media and put on your favourite music.
Wouldn’t it be nice to receive a mixed media miniature art piece instead of a store bought greeting card? or maybe as a framed piece of art? I knew I wanted this design to be sized for multiple purposes, so 2.5″ x 3.5″ would take care of ATC’s, greeting cards or framed artwork. Whoever receives this can frame it, or glue it to a greeting card blank and further upcycle it, or just display it with other ATC’s. Functional art is always something that’s fun to create.
For this miniature art idea, I took something from family members and used it in the design. I wrote down their names on a piece of paper, including my own, cut it up into strips, put it in a bowl and picked out 6 names. With those names, I then wrote down the first thing that came to my mind when I thought about the person. I used that in the design.
Guess what? we get to make another miniature art project! This design is super simple and you can change out just a couple of things to make it for any type of theme.
Greetings from the Past – Miniature Mixed Media Art Project. Here’s a great miniature art project if you’re just starting to learn about mixed media using just a few supplies.
