Oh have I got an easy art card / mixed media playing card project for you!
How would you like to try your hand at working with Sea Glass and combining it with corrugated cardboard
In part three of the “3, 6, 9” series for “52 pickup” the focal points that I’m using are corrugated cardboard and blue Sea Glass.
Using glass is always a challenge, especially when creating a mixed media playing card, because it’s so small. But as long as your playing card is thick enough to support the glass and there are no sharp edges, you’ll be fine. If you have very thin playing cards, check out the free download below for bonus tips including working with thin playing cards.
Blue was going to be my primary palette for this project, so the blue Sea Glass worked really well for this easy art card. Using a combination of Phthalo Blue acrylic paint (we all know what happens when I touch Phthalo Blue) and Turquoise shimmer misters with touches of Raw Umber to neutralize some areas and the card is just layered with such beautiful variations of blue.
If you haven’t tried them already, here are the two other cards in the series.
