In this video lesson, I’m going to show you how to make a bird nest for your next art or home decor project.
You may be asking “why make it, just buy one”.
Let me ask you this…while planning out an art project, have you ever found yourself bored using store bought stuff? You mumbled “meh” to yourself and think “I can make something better”.
Now you know why…
Two projects were being planned and I needed a bird nest for each one.
I did find dark brown ones at the craft store for about $4. They were plain and needed to be embellished.
It honestly didn’t do a thing for me and as I turned around, I saw a burlap bow on the shelf and that’s when I had my idea.
Why not use strips for burlap to make a mixed media bird nest. Now, I knew that the big box home improvement store had burlap to wrap around small trees and shrubs and I picked up the last package.
I could have used twine for this and in the video lesson, you’ll see how easy it is to use burlap strands to create a full texture mixed media bird nest.
