Art Place protects and respects the privacy of all our website visitors and customers.

All information collected from customers when signing up is used for billing and administration purposes only and is kept strictly confidential. We have taken security measures to ensure that our customers’ information is protected against loss, alteration or misuse. All transmissions of private information over the Internet are encrypted using standard SSL protocols.

Any personal passwords or usernames given to a customer are their own responsibility. Customers must ensure that only authorized personnel access their accounts.

Our Privacy Management Plan includes guidelines on the collection, storage, use and retention of your Personal Information as follows:

Collection:

Art Place collects personal information about individuals (clients) in order to better manage its business. The company will make all reasonable efforts to fully inform such individuals about the planned use/disclosure. The company will limit the collection and use of personal information to that required for valid business purposes or to comply with legislation.

Your email address, name and any other information you provide, such as address and phone number you provide to Art Place are held in strict confidence.  We use other third parties, such as a credit card processing company, to bill you for services if that is the payment method you chose.

Our payment processor is Stripe, you may read their privacy policy directly on their website.  For any orders using our previous process “Pay Pal”, you may read their privacy policy directly on their website.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience and for notifications so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

Visitor comments are checked through an automated spam detection service.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Email Newsletters:

Art Place collects basic information for our newsletter subscriptions.   We do not sell or share your information with anyone else. Subscribers are required to confirm their subscription by e-mail and may opt-out/unsubscribe at anytime from a link at the bottom of every email.  If you wish to subscribe to our newsletter(s), we will use your name and email address to send the newsletter to you. If you no longer wish to receive our newsletters, you may follow the unsubscribe instructions contained in each of the communications you receive.

In the case of a subscriber not receiving an email, a technical support request will be placed with the email provider only if consent is provided by the subscriber.

Accuracy:

Art Place will make every reasonable effort to ensure that the personal information it collects and uses is accurate and complete. Individuals providing personal information will have the opportunity to review and correct their personal information, and on written request by an individual to whom the information relates, the organization will modify the information as required.

Storage:

Art Place will store personal information by electronic means in such a way as to prevent unauthorized collection, access, use, disclosure or disposal of the personal information.  Art Place does not store any credit card information.

Retention:

Art Place has establish a retention period for all personal information collected for the term that the client remains a client of Art Place.  Other information such as contact form entries and analytics records for a year.

Access:

In addition to the care that Art Place takes directly, we also work with all of our partner organizations that may at some point handle personal information gathered by us in the course of their relationship with and service to us. Each third party partner has agreed to meet our standards of privacy, confidentiality and security.

All Employees and third party staff who in any way handle or manage Personal Information have acknowledged and agreed to adhere to our Privacy Code and the procedures that support that code.

Rights Over Your Data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Cookies and Tracking:

We use cookies to enable us to personalize your visits to this website, track the usage of this website, and keep track of user preferences. Cookies are small pieces of information stored in the hard drive of your computer by your browser. Your browser will have the option to prevent a website from using cookies, but it may reduce the functionality of this site and other websites. Like all websites, our servers automatically record ‘log files’ that contain information about the volume and characteristics of traffic. Examples of this include IP addresses, numbers of pages viewed, and length of time spent on site. We cannot identify you from these log files and use them to help us monitor and improve our site and the services we provide.

If you have an account and you log in to this site (artplace.ca or studio.artplace.ca), we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics for data collection. You can see how Google uses data when you use their partners’ sites by visiting this link (www.google.com/policies/privacy/partners/). We use cookies to analyze user activity in order to improve the website.

Embedded Content from Other Websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
